The goal of the PNWCA is showcase the wide range of incredible cider the Pacific Northwest has to offer. In addition to a private judging and award selection, PNWCA is comprised of a one-day public festival allowing each cidery to put their best cider forward.  Read more about the festival and find out how to participate.

To submit ciders for the private judging, please complete the online registration form and submit payment by May 17 as your intent to participate. You must be a licensed, commercial winery (cidery) and a current member of the Northwest Cider Association to participate. Please review formal PNWCA rules and regulations, as well as style guidelines, before submitting. You can also read more about the judging process.

Entry fee is $30 per cider. Cideries may submit up to 15 entries. One entry per style category is allowed.

All entry fees will be used in rental of judging location, awards, and meals and transportation for judges. Confirmation of registration and cider categories will be sent to entrants by May 20.

All associated cider samples must be received by June 17. Cider samples can be mailed or dropped off. Please contact Julie Dahlen at 360.528.1566 or julie@pnwca.com to arrange drop-off. Address for shipments and drop-offs is:

Julie Dahlen
4700 Ohio Ave S, Unit A
Seattle, WA 98134

Cideries must provide the equivalent of at least 44 ounces for each entry, or four (4) 12-ounce containers, two (2) 22-ounce containers, three (3) 16-ounce containers or two (2) 750ml bottles. Acceptable package sizes must be between 10 and 27 ounces. Entries must be bottled or canned. No growlers accepted.

In addition to the private judging, each cidery registered with the Northwest Cider Association is invited to pour one cider at a public tasting event, held Saturday, June 25 at The Woods tasting room (draft only). These ciders will be purchased and poured by Seattle Cider Company at the festival. Each cidery may choose (and are encouraged) to have a representative present. Please indicate your interest and which cider you would like poured on the competition registration form. Read more about the festival.
